The following modular services are included in the project definition:
1. Financing SGS can act as an investor in scanner projects, for instance under BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer) or BOO (Build-Own-Operate) arrangements. SGS is keen to join forces in public-private partnerships and has secured cooperation with leading international investment & insurance institutions (MIGA, IFC… etc.).

2. Feasibility study on site The purpose is to assess the current situation, to evaluate the current entry/exit point clearance process, to check the volume of traffic and its fluctuation over a specific period of time, to anticipate the perspective growth of volume for the coming years.

3. Zoning survey /mapping Based on a scaled map, SGS will carry out a scanner site research, analyze potential sites and compare their respective advantages/disadvantages, strengths/weaknesses, as well as assess what a scanner implementation would represent in terms of work, neighborhood impact, reorganization…etc

4. Logistic/ physical and documentary process review and re-engineering The purpose is to optimize scanner integration and maximize clearance process effectiveness. This will involve in-depth study of the Customs clearance process and, for each step, the physical location of the step, the time spent, the documents used, the costs incurred, the place of the step in the process and simulation of various new scenarios with the scanner step integration.

5. Scanner selection / Comparative study Selection of the type of scanner that would best meet specific requirements and objectives and that would be adapted to the economic constraints.
Comparison study of the different brands of scanners (for the selected type of scanner) currently available in the market.

6. Scanner purchase contract negotiation SGS has good relationships with the scanner manufacturers and has already cooperated with all of them. Therefore SGS is well positioned to assist you with the negotiation of the purchasing contract of the equipment, including the definition of the list of spare parts to be delivered and the different options.
